W.A. Chester, a United Utility Company installed a 138kv Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE) triplex cable into an 8” HPFF steel pipe to feed into the new Buzzard Point Substation that was constructed to support the Audi soccer stadium in Washington, DC. W.A. Chester hired and managed the Civil Contractor and all aspects of the project.
The XLPE cables were manufactured by Sumitomo in Japan. W.A. Chester sent personnel to Japan to become certified in splicing the Sumitomo cable. Our expertise allows us to provide a full range of highly specialized installation, repair, and maintenance services on all underground cable systems.
