Flagami Inductor Cutover Project Completed Ahead of Schedule
W.A. Chester, a United Utility company, was awarded the Flagami Inductor Cutover project in Miami, FL, by Florida Power & Light and successfully completed the project ahead of the 2018 end-of-year deadline.
This underground utility installation project encompassed two new sections of stainless-steel conduits from an existing parallel circuit to a new inductor substation. The new cutover cable system installation was engineered to feed a group of new inductors which will support an HV overhead circuit need for FPL.
Project Timing
Outage timing was a critical path for FPL and additional challenges were requested during the start of this project, shortening the duration of the outage window of work for W.A. Chester. In cooperation with the client, W.A. Chester, successfully completed installation of 750’ of new stainless-steel pipe, 750’ of cable, 6 terminations, 2 bi-metallic splices and over 800’ of 2” oil line ahead of schedule for FPL.
