As President of Operations – Northeast for United Utility Services, Brett Hurlburt provides executive oversight for operations across the Northeast, leading both D&D Power and W.A. Chester. He works closely with regional leadership teams to advance operational excellence, strengthen safety performance, and support the company’s continued growth.
Prior to joining United Utility Services, Brett served as National Director of Transmission Service at E-J Electric T&D LLC, where he led teams and helped build a rapidly expanding transmission services division. Earlier, he spent more than a decade with Michels Power, holding senior leadership positions including Senior Vice President and Vice President, overseeing large-scale utility construction operations and driving significant regional growth.
Brett began his career with National Grid, where he held multiple leadership roles in operations and program management. Before entering the utility industry, he served as a commissioned officer in the Military Police Corps of the United States Army following his graduation from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he earned a degree in Engineering.

Brett earned a Bachelor’s in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, an MBA, and a Master of Business and Organizational Security from Webster University. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
